How to trim out windows metal siding.
Install the trim by nail the longer side of the j to the framing lumber with the washer head metal siding nails.
The metal siding will slide into the j trim so install the channel with the opening of the j facing the direction of the siding.
To install a window you cut an opening and install framing to mount the window and trim the outer edges.

Where edges of trim meet siding material windows doors or other finished openings leave a minimum 3 16 inch 5 mm space to allow for proper sealing.
Provide increased spacing along the trim if specified by the siding application instructions.

The third option is to cut between the side of the window frame and the edge of the siding with a metal cutting.
